Description
The AtoMik® Breakout Board x4 provides easy access to signals from AtoMik instruments installed in a Backplane x4. The signals are accessed on the board via generic pin headers with 2.54mm pitch.
In the first slot is the control BAS instrument installed. This instrument handles power & reset signals and a USB control channel to the other 3 instrument slots.
The Breakout Board x4 also provides ‘Base Expansion’ and ‘Instrument 0’ signals from the BAS instrument. The interfaces of the next 3 instrument slots are directly mapped to 6 generic headers on the Breakout Board. These slots are named ‘Instrument 1’, ‘Instrument 2’ and ‘Instrument 3’. The pinout for the first instrument slot (BAS) is described in detail in the next section. The pinout of Instrument slots 1-3 is only generic since it depends on what instrument(s) are installed in each slot. Please refer to the pinout section of the specific instrument's documentation for a detailed signal mapping.
The Breakout Board also includes an extra upstream USB-connection to the host via the embedded USB hub on the installed BAS instrument.
